February 13, 1934 - November 6, 2025

Brona Lashmit Duncan, 91 passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025 at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Frederick, MD.  “Boots” as she was affectionately known, was born in Winston Salem, NC on February 13, 1934 to Charles C Lashmit and Annie Holleman Lashmit.  She was the devoted wife of Harry Luther Duncan for 40 years until his death in 1994.

Boots and Harry lived in King, NC for 30 years and owned and operated Harry Duncan Chevrolet.  In 1992 they retired to Bonita Springs, FL where she resided until last year when she moved to Maryland.

Boots will be remembered for her quick wit and kindness.  She was a devout Christian and belonged to several church communities over the years, where she made treasured friends.   She loved doing crafts and was a talented seamstress and watercolor artist.  She loved to travel and read, but her greatest joy was her family.  She is survived by her daughter Melissa Mackintosh, son-in-law, Stephen “Buzz” Mackintosh, and her granddaughters who lovingly knew her as “Cha Cha”; Kelly Mackintosh, Jessica Porter (Austin) and Lindsay Mackintosh, her sister Sue Huffman, nephews Mike Huffman, Scott Huffman and niece Debbie Beck.

A service will be held in Winston Salem, NC.  The details will be updated once arrangements have been made.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the charity of your choice.  We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Spring Arbor for the loving care they provided.

Oh Melissa, so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I did not know your Mother, but She looks like such a sweet lady, and I know she was because she has a beautiful, sweet daughter. Thinking of you and your family. Love, Kathy and Jamie Jamison
