Carol Lee Warfield, 71, of Dickerson, Maryland, passed away on October 2, 2025.
Born on June 5, 1954, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Norman R. and Catherine M. (Zimmerman) Morgan of Beallsville. She was formerly married to Stephen Craig Warfield, Sr.
Carol is survived by her beloved sons, Stephen Craig Warfield, Jr. and his wife Cindy, and Matthew Warfield and his wife Blair; seven cherished grandchildren, Chelsea, Travis (Morgan), Austin (Jennifer), Charli, Haddie, Hayes, and Cayden; and three adored great-grandchildren, Rainey, Noah, and Finnley. She is also survived by her brothers Richard (Dick) Morgan (Sharon) and Howard Morgan, and sisters Shirley Stone Darnell (Rick) and Sandra (Michael) Hollenbaugh, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Bill) Morgan and Gene (Ginny) Morgan, and one sister, Joan Morgan.
Carol grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Beallsville, Maryland, where she learned the values of hard work, responsibility, and compassion from an early age. Working alongside her brothers and sisters, she developed a lifelong love of animals and the simple joys of country living—traits that remained with her throughout her life and shaped the caring, grounded person she became.
Carol proudly served as a devoted security guard at the NIH Poolesville campus for 30 + years. She had a deep love for her family, her animals, and her hometown of Poolesville, Maryland. She graduated from Poolesville High School, Class of 1972.
Carol’s greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She loved spending time outside, finding peace and beauty in every hummingbird that came to her feeders. Her home and her heart were always open—she was the first to lend a helping hand, offer support, or share a kind word with anyone in need. Her gentle spirit and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her. Carol will be remembered for her kindness, love of family, and her giving spirit. Forever in our hearts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., Barnesville, MD 20838. Carol’s final resting place will be with her family at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Maryland, with a private ceremony on Friday, October 10th.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carol’s memory to a local animal shelter or charity of your choice.
