James “Jim” Elwood Allnutt, 84, of Monrovia, MD, passed away on July 18, 2026.
Jim was the loving husband to Helen E. Allnutt for 62 years.
Born on October 29, 1941 in Poolesville, Maryland, he was the son to the late Clarence L. and Laura (Howard) Allnutt.
Jim (G-dad) was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim worked for Montgomery county public school for 42 years prior to his retirement. He loved sports and spent many years coaching at the youth level for his kids and grandkids. If he wasn’t coaching he could be heard in the stands cheering them on. He was their biggest cheerleader. Coach G Dad made an impact on so many kids during his years of coaching. He was loved by so many and left lasting memories and impressions. He was such a loving soul, he never met a stranger.
Along with his wife Helen, Jim is survived by his children; Laura MacIvor (Ken), James Allnutt, II (Mariea), Katie Hackey (Anthony), 7 grandchildren; Ryan MacIvor (Jesscia), Kyle MacIvor (Kate), Tyler Allnutt, Delaney Jones (Austin), Dylan Allnutt, Ayden Hackey, Kyrah Hackey, 1 great-granddaughter; Lila MacIvor and one brother; Upton (Sonny) Allnutt.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his 11 siblings.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 28th from 10:00 AM -12:30 PM at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Monocacy Cemetery, 19801 West Hunter Road, Beallsville, MD. Reception to follow at The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association or St. Jude’s children’s Research Hospital.
