John "Johnny" T. Croghan Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. Born on January 21, 1949, Johnny lived a life rich in adventure, service, and connection, leaving behind a profound legacy of love.

A proud veteran, Johnny honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Outside of his service, he possessed a lifelong passion for freedom and the open road, and nothing brought him more joy than riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Known for his warm spirit, Johnny was blessed with many wonderful friends with whom he shared countless laughs and unforgettable memories.

Johnny is survived by the love of his life, Linda "Lulu" Croghan. He was a devoted father to his children: Brent and his wife Jenny Croghan; Ann and her husband Jason Khoury; John and his wife Kristin Croghan; David Croghan; Jason and his wife Shelby Covey; and Chip and his wife Rachel Buffington. He was the proud grandfather of Ben, Emma, Lillian, Lindsey, Sean, Kate, Lilah, Aliyah, Trey, Liz, Jimmy, Ben, Jack, Quinn and Jordan. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Joe Croghan, and his loving sisters, Barbara Derr and Jill Hite. His grandson Trey Covey will forever carry the love, wisdom and memories they shared together.

Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved son, Patrick Croghan.

Though his final years presented great challenges, Johnny's strength, his passion for life, and the love he had for his large family and close friends remained unmistakable. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. May he ride in peace.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at Amvets Post #2 "The Farm", 9602 Baltimore Rd, Frederick, MD 21704 on Thursday, June 25th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
