Lorraine Jackson

LORRAINE JACKSON.JPG

June 1, 1927 - April 7, 2025

On April 7, 2025, our beloved mother, Lorraine Jackson, went home to be with the Lord and our beloved father, Charles E. Jackson, Jr., at the age of 97.

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, she will always be remembered for her love of family, her love of life, her kindness, her humor, her hospitality, and her gentleness. We celebrate that she is now in heaven and no longer suffering, yet we will miss her more than words can describe, until we meet again.

She is survived by her five daughters, Midge Kaplan; Susan Wilson and husband, Bob; Lynn Hutzler and husband, Mike; Vicky Snelnick and husband, Jerry; and Lillian Winning and husband, Craig. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was the matriarch of our family and taught all of us so much about life and how best to live it, with grace, humility, kindness, and humor.

She is preceded in death by our father, Charles E. Jackson, Jr.; her parents, Finn and Ingrid Trogstad; her sister, Lill Hurley; her son-in-law, Burt Kaplan; and her grandson, Kyle Wilson.

A celebration of life will be held at Poolesville Memorial United Methodist Church on April 23rd at 1:00 PM. We will be greeting guests at 12:00 PM for a time of fellowship prior to the service, followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel-2-Towers in support of Veterans and first responders.

• 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." Praying God comforts you all! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
