Mike and I shared our Middle and Upper School years at McDonogh where he was an avid participant in the school athletic program plus an assortment of other activities. Joining the band was more my preferred thing because instead of marching, military style in ranks, occasionally band members were permitted to sit down for practice sessions. We shared a number of 'entertaining' Upper School math classes where Mike chided me for not doing anything more than the required minimum, especially in Ray Oliver's Algebra I & II classes. Later, we both opted for the University of Baltimore where Miked earned his law degree and I was more into marketing. I last connected with Mike at our 40th Class of 1959 reunion where he unexpectedly asked me to sign his copy of book I had written. I was honored to do so.
