Thomas Benton Jeffers, 64, of Middletown, MD, passed away on October 13, 2025.
Born on November 30, 1960, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Donald E. and Doris E. (Hawse) Jeffers.
Tom enjoyed hunting, automobiles, and a really good steak. He loved the country life and was in his element when he was working the land on his John Deere tractor. Tom collected antiques and relished the work he did, with his own hands, restoring his Civil War-era farmhouse.
Tom was very proud of those he loved and took every opportunity to share about them. Tom will be lovingly reunited with his beloved dog, Frangelica, his faithful companion known to all as "Frannie" or "Fran."
Tom took tremendous pride in his work. He established his own business, Antietam Refrigeration (previously Antietam Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) in 1983. His peers often praised his persistent work ethic and “old school” honesty. His customers were more than clients; they were family to him, and many became personal friends.
Thomas is survived by his sons; Christopher Thomas Jeffers, wife, Casey, and Jeremy W. Jeffers; his devoted fiancée; Nadine Dintzer, one sister; Brenda Thew, husband, Lee, two grandchildren; Cecilia G. Jeffers and Archie Benton Jeffers and two nephews, Alex Thew, wife Caroline, and Zachary Thew, wife Wendy, and their children Easton, Elliott and Emmett.
Tom dearly loved his sister, Karen Denise Jeffers, who preceded him in death in 1978.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, October 20th from 10:00-11:00 AM at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Monocacy Cemetery, 19801 West Hunter Road, Beallsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Frederick County Humane Society (https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/fchs/mobile) or Frederick Community College to help support the next generation of HVAC Technicians.

Tom, you were such a nice person and although I haven't known you for long, you will not be forgotten (you'll see to that, I'm sure). Please know that you loved ones (that I know) will be held close to my heart, so you can peacefully continue onto your journey back to your true home, where when it's your loved ones time, you will be there to give them a warm welcome back home. I'm sure your beloved dog, Frannie is eagerly awaiting your return back home. Hail the Traveler ...
