Walter M. Prichard, 99 years, of Dickerson, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 10th 2026.

 

Funeral services for family and close friends will be held Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:30 am at the Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Ground Rd, Boyds, Maryland 20841. Burial will follow at the church. Arrangements are by Hilton Funeral Home.

Walt was born in Takoma Park, Maryland to Walter and Florence Prichard on July 11, 1927. In 1947 he attended the University of Maryland business college and pledged to Alpha Tau Omega (ATO). He married Audrey Belle Mowen on August 19, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD. Walt completed his MBA in business administration at American University in 1955. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the Army 33rd infantry. Walt worked in business, production and administration, beginning at Applied Physics Lab at John Hopkins University in 1951 and retiring as a co-owner of Timsco, Alexandria Metal Finishers, and other partnerships.  He was involved in the  Monocacy Lions Club, the Sugarloaf Riding Club, and as a Deacon at Boyds Presbyterian Church.  

 

Walter is preceded in death by wife Audrey, daughter Jane, brother Roger, and sisters Dorothy, Isabel, and Katherine.  

 

Walter is survived by his children Greg, Keith, Beth and their spouses Sam and Sandy; his grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Lauren, Erika, Calvin, Megan, and Sidney and their partners, wives and husbands, George, Helen, Tom, Jordan, Rachel, Dylan, and Don; and his great grandchildren Owen, Halle, Wesley, Cameran, and Whitney. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Monocacy Lions Club or the Jane M Prichard Memorial Fund at McDaniel College.
